Multi-Level Perimeter Solutions for Large-Scale Residential Development Project
SIS provided comprehensive perimeter scaffolding solutions for a major residential construction project, delivering structures reaching 25 to 30 meters in height with full encapsulation wrap. This protective system created a safe working environment throughout the construction process while enabling a unique “one build, two process” approach where structural teams and finishing trades could work simultaneously. The encapsulation system significantly reduced falling hazards and enhanced overall site safety.
The project scope was substantial, covering a 1.8-hectare site and requiring the deployment of 2,000 tonnes of scaffolding. The SIS team coordinated seamlessly with cranage and structural teams across three separate apartment buildings, each rising from ground level to 30 meters. SIS’s design and engineering team conducted thorough reviews of the architectural plans and produced detailed construction drawings. These documents clearly communicated the parameters of the perimeter scaffold to the client, highlighting how the system would accommodate their specific requirements for multi-level access throughout the façades of all three buildings.
To ensure exceptional precision and additional safety, SIS deployed their specialised surveying team to accurately position the scaffold according to the established grid lines. This meticulous approach guaranteed that the structural team received a safe perimeter scaffold while simultaneously providing the finishing trades with secure access platforms.
This innovative dual-purpose scaffolding approach represented a cost-effective solution for the client, Hacer, as it effectively served two distinct functions within a single installation. SIS successfully executed a safe practice scaffold with full encapsulation, leveraging their extensive project experience to create significant efficiencies and cost savings. The impressive scale of the project and its complex logistical requirements demanded careful attention to multiple safety elements throughout both the installation and dismantling phases, all while coordinating closely with the client’s on-site team.
